BOFWA – The Botswana Family Welfare Association
The Botswana Family Welfare Association (BOFWA) is committed to promoting sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRH&R) to youth, adults and families.
Since 1989, BOFWA provides quality services ranging from information dissemination, education, counseling, life skills development, and SRH&R training and advocacy.
The Association’s approach specifically targets young people who are vulnerable to HIV and pregnancy due to unprotected sex.
BOFWA believes that knowledge of sexual and reproductive health and access to services are fundamental human rights.
BOFWA works to:
- Collect and disseminate information on sexual and reproductive health issues and responsible parenthood in the interest of family and community welfare
- Advocate and promote the prevision of sexual and reproductive health services
- Promote the right to knowledge and the practice of family planning
- Promote and train to the association’s volunteers to implement BOFWA programs
