Maun Animal Welfare Society
Maun Animal Welfare Society is a non-profit organization which aims to improve the lives of domestic animals by providing free or low-cost veterinary services and educational programmes in and around Maun, Botswana.
In addition to improving the health of Botswana’s domestic animals and livestock, our vaccination campaign has helped reduce the spread of diseases such as rabies and canine distemper.
These diseases are a threat to humans and have been known to decimate wildlife populations including the endangered African Wild Dog.
MAWS’s Maun based veterinary work is conducted from their purpose built clinic which accommodates up to four veterinarians at any one time. The clinic also features four large external holding pens and a large fenced pen where individual cages/kennels can be kept safely. Maws is staffed by volunteers.
