Established in 1988, Thuso Rehabilitation Centre’s goal is to provide rehabilitation services for the disabled community in Ngamiland and Chobe District. They aim to create opportunities for an independent life for people with disabilities.

Their services are split into two groups: Therapy and Training. Their many therapy services include occupational therapy, physiotherapy, speech and language therapy, orthopedic services, threraplay, and rehabilitation, family and HIV counseling.

The basic skills training service trains people with disabilities for both social and economic empowerment in the following: dressmaking, leatherworks, agriculture and weaving. For a period of two years, people are taught these skills and as a result, can make a living off their trade. Clients taking part in their residency training programs can live on the property along with a caregiver at the Thuso Hostel which can accommodate 55 people. The centre has about 34 full time employees comprising of both local and expatriates.

The community-based rehabilitation unit is responsible for community awareness and assesses and registers people with disabilities. Currently, Thuso serves over 4500 registered clients
